Lettre du 4 sept. 1666 (de Rome) : « Non m’ero lassato ben intendere con Vostra Altezza Serenissima del Cesare d’oro, il signor abbate Braccese ne desidera uno di quelli ordinari, fatto dalle famiglie, velato o senza velo, restando servita Vostra Altezza Serenissima di darne uno di quelli perchè gli manca nella sua serie de’ dodici Cesare, come anco gli manca il Vespasiano di oro con qualche bel roverso. Avendo però io detto oggi al signor abbate Braccese che Vostra Altezza Serenissima averebbe gradito di avere le sue due medaglie di argento di Manio Massimo e Flavio Vittore suo figliolo tiranni, et che averebbe auto in cambio il Cesare d’oro et il Vespasiano che gli mancavano, egli non ha fatto altro che andare allo studiolo, prenderle e darmele con dirmi che era troppo gran fortuna quella che io gli presentavo di servire a Vostra Altezza Serenissima » (Firenze, ASF, Carteggio d’artisti, XVII, c. 604 ; M.
