Lettre du 11 sept. 1668 (de Rome) : « per altra occasione deverà havvertire che tali medaglie si conoscono alla maniera moderna alli profili taglienti et alle lettere le quali sono fatte con più diligenza che le antiche, essendo queste più disugual(i) et oltre si conoscono al metallo vecchio, quando non fussero coniare sopra l’Antico che queste è facile a conoscerle » (Firenze, ASF, Carteggio d’artisti, XVII, f° 88 ; L.
