-Lettre du 9 février 1723 M. V. (1724) (de Venise): “Le altre tutte son false la maggior parte lavorate col bulino sopra metallo antico, con alterazione delle fisionomie o mutazione di lettere, o simili. Come pur troppo anche in Venezia una maledetta lega di alcuni monetarii, pur troppo da me conosciuti, che dalle loro diaboliche officine vanno tuttogiorno traendo fuori quantità di medaglie adulterate in strane forme, e con lavoro sì vicino all’antico, che han molto che fare a non lasciarsi deludere i più periti.
