-Lettre du 31 mars 1699 (de Milan) : sur une médaille de Valerio Belli : « Se potesse bastarvi in cera di Spagna l’impronta delle medaglie di Giulio Cesare, mi risparmiereste un grande intrigo, non sapendo in quale altra guisa favela giungere. La medaglia sicuramente non solo è rara, ma forse unica, ben conservata e senza alcun dubbio vera ed antica. L’hanno veduta parecchi e l’hanno stimata una preziosa antichità. Il rovescio mostra un Apollo sedente con l’arpa in grembo, un ramo d’ulivo ritto a’ piedi ed una colonna a cui è appogiato un trofeo d’armi collo scudo, ov’è una testa o di Medusa o di un Re coronato, segni della pace data a Roma da quell’Imperadore e dell’ozio prodotto alle Muse » (voir Campori 1901 vol.
