Lettre du 13 décembre 1703 (de Modène): l’espoir de voir aussi republier le premier volume de Mezzabarba père: "[...] Mi rallegro che siate divenuto l'erede del Maggi; ma bisogna lavorar seriamente pel sodo e spronare il secondo tomo delle Medaglie Greche, il quale sarà carissimo a tutta la Repubblica Letteraria non men del primo. Certo è che l'opera del vostro famoso genitore potrebbe ricevere da voi un nuovo beneficio di aggiunta e di correzioni; né si dee dal figliuolo trascurar quella gloria, a cui il Padre stesso avrebbe atteso, se la morte non l'avesse rapito prima del tempo. Questo non è sacrilegio, anzi operazione santissima. Potrebbesi per mio consiglio colla stampa del secondo ristampare il primo. [...]" (Campori 1901 vol.
