Lettre du 3 janvier 1704 (de Modène): "[...] Il vostro glorioso padre fra le medaglie di Antonio Pio ve ne riferisce tre all'anno di Cristo 161, in cui morì quell'Augusto, portanti nel rovescio una colonna. Osservate la pag. 206. Un amico mio desidererebbe che si trovasse via d'avere un abbozzo ben chiaro delle dette medaglie, o di sapere in quai libri sieno stampate, o in quai Musei si conservino, perché dovrebbe valersene. Se mai poteste favorirmi di questa notizia, e molto più se poteste farmi avere un disegno dei tali rovesci, io vorrei sbracciarmi per farvi esentare dalle obbligazioni della soma somasca. Questa riflessione, ma più la vostra gentilezza e il vostro amore hanno a farvi operare con sollecitudine per favorirmi, e state certo che ancor io farò il possibile per mostrarvi la mia gratitudine.
