Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Letter of 8 Oct. 1784 (from Naples): Vargas lo definiva (Sestini) “uomo capace, dotto e conoscitore del vero dal falso”. Chiese di spartire gli acquisti, ma Sestini “col solito suo schietto modo, e poche parole mi disse: per l’oggetto stesso sono impegnato col Ministro della Gran Brettagna”. Consigliava “di farlo maneggiare per mezzo dello Ministro stesso della G.B. con cui il Ministro di Cesare, che è colà averà amicizia, e così farete un bel colpo, di aver cose peregrine per il Gabinetto Cesareo con sicurezza, che non sieno false, e con acquisto a buona ragione" ; "come mi avete prevenuto, che non vi bisognano quelle di diferente roverscio” (Vienna, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Archiv V, f° 119; Missere Fontana 2022, p. 527, notes 16-17, 551, note 305)
