9 August 1606 (from Ghent): “Monsieur, je pensais voir les livres de M. Laurinus (nb: the manuscripts left by Goltz), mais mon malheur voulut que celui qui les a est en l’armée, tellement qu’il faudra de nécessité que je m’en remette à ce que vous pourrez écrire quelque jour. Je suis arrivé un peu trop tard pour voir rien qui vaille aujourd’hui ; demain au matin, j’espère voir tout ce qui est chez M. Laurent Diegbroot et M. van Hurn, et de partir incontinent après dîner, pour aller coucher le plus près de Tournai, s’il plaît à Dieu, qu’il me sera possible, où je m’arrêterai le moins que je pourrai pour me rendre au temps de l’assignation près M. le duc d’Arscot” (Ruelens 1885, I, p. 32-33; Scheller 1978, p. 67, note 122).
