10 March 1623 (from Paris): “Qui habbiamo alcuni curiosi d’antiquita che compatiscono alla male sorte del Sr De Bie, e che l’aiuterebbero volentieri accio potesse uscire da faccende et venir a lavorare della sua vacatione. Se V. S. potesse trattarne seco ella farebbe gran carita. Egli diceva haver comprato li libri di disegni delle medaglie di Golzio non stampati, cioe un libro di dissegni delle medaglie imperiali datogli dal Duca d’Arscot et da luy laciato in prestito o in pegno appresso il Sr V. Cobergo, un altro delle medaglie della Grecia comprato 800 libre et gli altri volumi delli dieci Cesari restante complemento del numero di XII, comprati altre 800 libre. Vorressimo pregarla d’informasi della verita se sonno in essere veramente detti libri a suo potere o no et se si potrebbono comprare, o desimpegnare per farlo venir qua ad attendere all editione di essi” (Carpentras, Bibliothèque et Musée Inguimbert, Minutes et copies des lettres de Peiresc, V, 693 v°; Rooses et Ruelens III 1900, no. 314, p. 139).
