Lettre du 13 juillet 1630 (de Belgentier, à Thunis), p. 87: "J’ay vu à Marseille un nommé Sayer que le sieur Napolon ramena à Alger qui avait force livres curieux, et qui avait bien lu dans leurs histoires. Je lui montrai des vieilles médailles arabiques, entre lesquelles il y en avait où était représenté Hercule qu’ils tenaient pour un géant qui eût été maître en Afrique. Et ai maintenant oublié le nom qu’ils leur donnent; possible ont-ils voulu dire que ce fût celui-là" (Carpentras, minutes, Registre A, f° 352; Tamizey de Larroque 1898 vol. 7, lettre XLIV, p. 85-88).
