-Lettre du 5 juin 1609 : l’ouvrage sur les dieux antiques paraît difficile à réaliser : « Il sig. Lelio poteva mandare que’ rittrati delle Deità e far questo giovamento alla Repubblica Letteraria, perchè ad ogni modo le sue occupazioni non gli permetteranno di perfezionare per l’avvenire quello che non si è fatto sin ora. O come mi rincresce che una raccolta si nobile come tiene Sua Signoria in tutte le cose si stia oziosa ! Credami V.S. che non tiene l’Italia cosa simile.
