-Lettre du 31 mai 1749 (de Venezia) : « Riferivo a Malta a dirittura al G. M. e a Monsignor Inquisitore sul suo articolo. Mi fo sfacciato oltre il mio costume, replico a S. A. E. acciò mandi qualche riconoscenza, e gli dico, che se userà qualche benignità con lei, sarà la più grata mercede che io possa conseguire della mia opera e delle mie Medaglie. Che posso fare di più? Io la amo, e la stimo, e perciò scrivo con questo impegno. Di Napoli mi scrivono che, avendo loro Sig.ri dato ricetto ai Barbareschi nel porto di Livorno, resta sospeso ogni commercio; così che l’involto dei libri, che andava al Rigacci, dove sono le Medaglie, è ancora colà.
