18 Dec. 1634 (from Antwerp): “Io no ho gia mai tralasciato nelli mei viaggi di observar et investigar le antichita publiche e private, e di ricovrar qualque cosetta curiosa per danari, e mi riservai alcuni pezzi di gemme le piu rare e medaglie esquisite fuori della vendita che feci al ducca di Buckingham di maniera che mi ritrovo ancora una bella e curiosa raccolta in mano ma si deve di questi tratar col animo tranquillo” (Paris, BnF, Manuscrits, Fonds Dupuy, no. 688; Rooses & Ruelens VI 1909, no. 785, p. 83-84).
