Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
-Lettre du 25 avril 1743 (de Scruton, North Yorkshire): He proceeds to a detailed observation on an inscribed Roman stone recently found at York which Mr. Drake has interpreted. He refers to Dr. Genebrier’s book, apparently not published by subscription, and he asks S to greet him before he leaves the country. He could have helped him to a curious, probably unique, medal of Carausus. He ends with news of Roger’s illness. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Eng. letters c. 9, f° 90-91).
