-Lettre du 3 janvier 1730 (de Messine): Abstract: Now that O. has returned to Holland I shall try to cultivate our correspondence, which has lapsed during O’s. travels. He is glad the packet of medals reached him safely after all; since then he has collected another 250 bronze and 48 of silver and if there is any you specially want and will name your price I will do my best to procure it for you. He is glad to learn that O. is at work on a publication of his observations on Sicily and would like to have a copy, for he is sure its favourable account of Sicily will encourage several English gentlemen to tour the island. There are very few of them here new. The political outlook is still very uncertain, and there are some who predict a change of master here as also in the neighbouring Kingdom of Naples.
