Many of the stone monuments have been described by Cuper, surprisingly inaccurately as to interpretation. He sends O. the coin of Timoclea to convince him of its genuineness. He proceeds to expound his ideas on the coin of Vaballathus brought to his notice by Bouhier. The exposition is lengthy and most elaborately documented from out of the way sources. He refers again to the coin of Timocleon for O’s. opinion, and reviews the scope and character of the antiquities as Cleves district has to show.
