I only just looked on it in the bookseller's shop, but shall take occasion to consider it. I remember one of them you have given us a draught of, because you could not find it in Occo, which method I like very well, and wish others would imitate it, taking care always to give us exact descriptions of such coins which have not been accounted for by other authors. I wish, however, you had the best edition of Occo by Mediobarbus. I am persuaded the very coin you have represented to us is there; but I will not be positive. We expect a new edition of Occo from Mr. Masson, a French gentleman, who is now travelling with two sons of Bishop Burnet. I saw him about a quarter of a year since in Oxon, and he told me he had made great collections in order to this design, and hoped to publish it, if he could meet with suitable encouragement, and was not taken off by other business. About six years since, he looked over all our's in the Bodleian Library, and took notice of several not mentioned in Occo. Our collection has been since very much increased, and especially in Greek ones, by the gift of Consul Ray and others; and it was to look over this addition, that Mr. Masson called the last time at Oxon.'
