Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

5 p. 42 no. 1272)

[I send you for the time being a small token of my respect for the great man that you are, to which with your usual courtesy I know you will give a kind reception, four gold coins of virtuous emperors. For I have heard that you take great delight in such relics of the past. If there is any other way in which I can gratify you as a dear friend, ask me, or somehow let me know, and it is as good as done.] (translation from Mynors - Estes 1989, p. 1258, no. 1272)
