-Letter of 8 July 1781 (from ?): "Il sistema del signor abbate Giuseppe Eckel [...] nella nuova ordinazione delle medaglie non deve far fortuna; si vedrà sempre di malocchio un medaglione di bronzo accanto a una delle più piccole medaglie d’oro, e se quest’ordine è tollerabile in un ricco e completo medagliere, è quasi impossibile in una crescente raccolta” (Fileti Mazza – Tomasello 1999, p. 92 note 281; Williams 2022, p. 266, note 172).
