Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".
'From Catcric I lately have received some Roman coins ; an account of a Roman altar : nothing found but stones and bones, and a piece of a stag's horn. An inscription was found also thereabout, but it is concealed by some that stole it from the farmer of Thornborough-grounds, near Cateric. Sir, be pleased still to oblige the Society, and me in particular.' (Hunter 1832, vol. 1, p. 298-9; Lukis 1882-1887, vol. 3, p. 299; Burnett 2020b, pp. 1489 n. 7, 715 n. 118)
