'Yrs of Ap’ the 18th making no mention of the medals I wrote to you about [I] doe conclude my Leter must have miscarryed. I have for some months past had a parcel by me at yr Service; & the best account I can give of ym is This, viz.
Faustina in gold. Eleven drams, & 3 grains.
Twelve gold medals of a lesser sort. 27 dms.
Thirty seven Silver medals. 12 of the largest sort & if my books deceie me not, two of ym are Raritys.
I have offered 175 dollars for ym, but the Owner talks of a greater price, & I am pre[ ] Confident will not part wth ym for less yn two hundred.
They are now in my possession, & I wait yr Ans[ ] to ys before I return them, wch I desire you send by the first Opportunity.'
