'... I was desired by a particular friend to write enquire of you whither you have or where you have seen any Coins or other Antiquities relating to the Kingdom of the Northumber’; for there is a reverend person eminent for his skill in antiquities (Mr Nicholson Arch^d. of Carlisle) that hath made great progress in illustrating the Antiquity of that Kingdom; so that if you were to acquaint me w^th any such thing, you will in an extraordinary manner oblige my friend and that worthy person the Undertaker (who is Uncle to Mr Archer) who I do not question would be very ready to communicate any thing of the like nature to you.'
