-Lettre du 28 mai 1737 (de Lunéville) : «J’arrive de Nancy où j’avais été à la prière de Mr le marquis de Beauveau pour ranger son cabinet de médailles, travail qui m’a occupé trois jours » (Ratisbonne, ms 71/2 ; V. Jamerey-Duval 2011, lettre 63, p. 259). Extrait de Dom Calmet, Bibliothèque lorraine (Nancy, 1751), col. 90:« BEAUVEAU (Henry) Marquis de Beauveau, tué en 1744 au siège d’Ypres, a été l’un des meilleurs et des plus beaux esprits de ce siècle; il avait une mémoire prodigieuse. Son cabinet, ou ses cabinets remplis de médailles, (car il en avait un à Paris et un à Nancy) sont des mieux choisis, et lui coûtent, dit-on, plus de cinquante mille écus: il avait beaucoup écrit; mais je ne sçache pas qu’il ait rien imprimé. »
