'Mr Consul Carew has sent me a fine parcell [of coins], & I am in hopes of ye continuance of his favr all along ye coast, as well as in ye inland cities, they are to be met wth & I wish you woud please to use yr interest wth ye Consul at Acra in procuring of them. There are yet several cities I have none of, as Orthosia, Gabala, Gadara, Capitolias, Epiphania, Arethusa. Leucadia, Anazarbus, Ptolemais, Paneas, Dorus, Gaba, Botrys, Byblus, Raphia, Diospolis, Paltus, Tiberias & tis probable there may be other cities in yr parts of wch no medals are yet described. I have met wth above twenty, not mentiond by authors, wch will be an addition to ye Geographicall, as ye others will be to ye Chronologicall part.'
