'A catalogue of about 120 coins from Claudius II to Valens. It was composed in the same way as the ‘main’ catalogue, again with a few comments and some references, mostly to Banduri. Some of the entries have been struck out, including the whole section of Carausius and Allectus, perhaps implying that they were to be transferred elsewhere, and sometimes the comment ‘coin to be added’ appears. Carausius, for example, has 10 coins deleted and the comment ‘17 AE3 to be entered’. Several of the coins in this list (e.g., Quintillus, Probus) also appear in the main catalogue, but some do not. So it looks as if this might be a part of an earlier catalogue, which Bell was in the process of updating, in the light of changes to his collection. This would help explain the gaps in the main catalogue.' (Burnett 2020b, p. 393)
