A copy cut up for annotation by James West and signed by him in 1727. He was clearly intending to use Leake’s book as the basis of a catalogue to which he was going to add specimens drawn from other collections:
'P stands for Coins as are in the Lord Pembrokes Collection as ye Crown of Henry ye Eighth &c
G for those Coins which are preserved in Mr Graingers Collection as the Gold one of Edward the Black Prince &c
L for those of Mr Lethieulliers Collection [added later:] as that of Svebherd
C for such Accounts as I have received from Mr Conduit then Master of the Mint
W for such accounts as I have received from my honoured friend Browne Willis
O For such as are in the Collection of the Earl of Oxford
V For such notices as from George Vertue the most skilful Engraver of our Nation
MF For such observations as I receive from the Learned Martin Folkes Esquire.'
