-Lettre du 22 mars 1787 (de ?): J’ay continuellement auprès de mon lit vos dissertations sur les med(ai)lles anecdotes que vous aves publié il y a quelques années [i.e. Eckhel 1775], et je ne me couche jamais sans en avoir lu plusieurs pages, je suis plus instruit par ce seul volume que par nombre de grand in fol[i]os qui traitent des med[ai]lles je suis assuré de n’être plus ignorant quand j’aurai lu tous vos ouvrages.
