RemarksRemarks regarding the annotation. (en)
One of the brothers Jan/Gio[vanni] and Andrea Pikerus, who are attested in Dutch sources in the 1690s: K. Heeringa, Bronnen tot de Gescheidnis van den Levantischen Handel Vol. II (1661–1726) (Hague, 1917), pp. 394–6, 424–6, 434–5. They are presumably the brothers mentioned by Thomas Owen, but it is not clear which of them was the coin collector, referred to often in Owen's letters. Jan is mentioned before Andrea, so was perhaps the elder, and so may have been the one who died first. (en)
